Labor is having a string of victories on the retail and fulfillment side in recent years and employees at another REI location, following a NYC REI unionizing, have delivered another W. Employees at the Berkeley, California, REI, maybe unsurprisingly, voted to join the United Food and Commercial Workers union this week.
REI voiced support for their workers.
“As we have said throughout this process, REI believes in the right of every employee to vote for or against union representation,” the company said in a statement following the vote count. “We fully supported the vote process in Berkeley and will continue to support our employees going forward.”
