I took receipt of these brand new powder coated rock sliders in Jan, 2020.
In Jan, 2021, I noticed these huge pieces flaking off (last 3 photos from then), what I attribute to a poor prep on the metal surface prior to coating. (I did receive a gift card for the cost of powder coating back- $150)
Last fall after annual fluid-film, I hit them with some black spraypaint to try to help-
Here they are today, looking terrible. None of my other armor has anything even remotely similar going on, all purchased at the same time and obviously facing the same conditions.
I do live in the midwest, truck is garage kept and washed frequently throughout winter.
I guess I’ll have to pay to have them blasted and re-coated. Is there a better type of coating?
