Drilled/slotted rotors good for off-road? : overlanding

Hi, putting together my first off roader… I’ve only been in performance street cars so it’s all new to me

I’ve always put high performance drilled/slotted rotors on my cars, but I’ve been told it may not work for off road

I’ve read a lot of forums and it’s 50/50… some people say they’ll hold on to mud and screw up the pads/rotors… others say they run them, have zero issues in mud and work way better than OE style

Opinions?
