Dry Ice in 12v Fridge Partition to Mimic Dual Zone Fridge/Freezer : overlanding

Has anyone tried putting a small amount of dry ice in the smaller walled off partition of a 12v fridge (see attached picture) to keep frozen goods? I’m wondering if this is a cheaper alternative to purchasing a dual zone 12v fridge for carrying occasional frozen goods. I would of course be mindful to vent the fridge periodically to get rid of CO2 gas.
