Has anyone in the UK or Ireland ever built themselves an overland/off-road trailer?
I’m starting the process of looking at options for trailers including DIY but unsure on details like HD suspension and high angle hitches.
The trailer I’d like to build would be based on the Patriot campers X series (X1, X2, X3 etc).
Should I be looking at indy suspension or leaf springs? And if indy, will the torsion style suspension be sufficient for off roading?
Has anyone found any sort of trailer hitches in the UK that allow for high flexibility? I’ve seen the military style pintle hitches, some even with a ball hitch built in which would be handy, but is there anything else?
Lead vehicle is a 3rd gen Hilux Surf (4Runner).
