If this sub is not the right place to ask this kind of question, please inform me of where to go (both in and outside of Reddit).
Not asking if anyone specifically in this sub has done it, just if anyone knows of any treks that have been done. I’ve been trying to find information about any trips across the Chukchi Peninsula but I haven’t found much. It may be the case that there’s info out there in a different language on rarely visited sites making it unlikely for that info to show up on Google.
I want to know if anyone has any information regarding treks that have started from either:
and ended in either:
A trek in the opposite direction is fine too.
In case you aren’t aware, Chukotka Autonomous Okrug is an extra annoying place to enter mainly due to the fact that you are required to have an extra permit on top of your Russian visa (I’ve read on some sites that the permit requires that you have a resident of the area vouch for you, which is usually why it’s almost required to hire a travel agency to be able to do this whole process).
Ideally, I would like to get a route map for the trek (if it’s ever been done), but any information at all would be greatly appreciated.
I’ve been searching up and down the peninsula using the free version of Gaia GPS but I have not found any routes on its map for the kind of trek that I’m talking about. If there is information that definitively proves that there has in fact NOT been a trek of the kind that I am talking about, I would take that too.
Thanks in advance!
