Had a great time. Started in Tennessee traveled down through Alabama, Mississippi , Louisiana into east Texas down to the border near Brownsville. Then back out through Oklahoma and Arkansas. Was a little hot, a little humid. No problems finding places to stay between the beach, campgrounds, state parks, and hipcamp in Texas. Did some dispersed National Forrest camping in Arkansas where public land still exists. Broke a cv axle leaving south padre island, got bit by 2 ticks, stung by a bee, bitten by fire ants, mosquitoes and gnats. Saw some excellent birds for my life list and found a few rocks. Had some great tacos. Was great because it had been on the list for a while but likelihood of going back that way is low. Too many other places I would rather be though I would camp south padre island again and try some fishing next time.
