Hey Overlanders – I have an electrical issue that I’m hoping the hivemind can help with. When I charge my 100ah LiFePO4 battery with shore power everything is fine until reaching the end of the charging cycle when the voltage quickly jumps to 17 – 18 volts. The charger displays an overvoltage warning and I immediately disconnect. Any ideas on what is causing this?
My setup includes a Chins 100ah LiFePO4 battery and a NOCO Genius GEN5X1 5-Amp charger. The charger is connected to the battery’s positive terminal (on top of a 150A terminal fuse) and the negative is connected to the shunt for the battery monitor, which connects to the negative battery terminal. My setup is very similar to this Moser Makes system but I opted for bus bars instead of the central hub.
I’m running out of ideas here and don’t want to damage my battery or other components. Thanks in advance!
