Paddling the Channel Islands For a Sense of Perspective

Jamie Mitchell is a big-wave surfer and long-distance open ocean paddler. As a dedicated waterman, the dude spends a whole lot of time in some of the most beautiful stretches of ocean on earth. It’s inspired an awareness of the challenges the ocean faces, how much shit we’ve dumped in it, and how much sea life is suffering. He decided to paddle the Channel Islands, off the coast of Southern California, to raise awareness and to connect further with a wild place so close to the pinnacle of civilization’s excess.
