Questions about M1102 Cargo Trailer for overloading : overlanding

I’m trying to find an affordable platform to build out my own custom overlanding rig. Most of the stuff I’m finding isn’t going to hold up, but I’ve found the M1102 military trailer and it seems to check all the boxes.

I’m worried about the breaks and electrical, does anyone have any experience or insights on these?

I found some adapters online to fix the wiring, but I’m also confident just rewiring it myself. I also read there may be issues with these break when going in reverse? I’m interested in any positive or negative feedback, I may snag one in the next week or two.
