Questions about the BRDs : overlanding

I’ll be heading west this summer. Something that I keep hearing about, especially on the Smoking Tire podcast, is the Backcountry Discovery Roads. That seems interesting to me. A bit of offroading with well layed out maps.

And you can pretty much go from Canada to Mexico on them. As I’ll be driving the Pan Am, that seems like a good option do explore the US vs driving on highways and other regular roads.

But from the site, it’s unclear to me if that’s a motorcycle only thing or if trucks are allowed on said trails? Has anyone done them? How was your experience?
