Shredding the Patriarch With Mountaineering Legends

Glacier Peak is a 12,320-foot feature in Montana’s Beartooth Mountains. The Patriarch is a classic but scary and technical ski mountaineering line running up the mountain’s cornice-guarded face. It’s also Cody Townsend’s 36th line out of North America’s 50 classic ski descents, as covered in the classic book of the same name. For this one, Townsend enlisted the help of Hilaree Nelson and Jim Morrison, the best of the best when it comes to terrifying skimo terrain.
