Talk me out of using my Volvo V90 CC for Overlanding : overlanding

I was planning on picking up a used 4Runner/GX470 to use strictly as our overland vehicle towing a UEV or Opus, but the prices/condition people are asking are too much for me to justify. So here I am looking at my V90 Cross Country, throwing on some 255/55/18 KO2, and maybe a factory spacer lift for rear leaf (transverse).

The car is paid off, and I probably only drive it 100 miles a month if I’m lucky. This would give me a chance to actually use it. Now we don’t plan on taking it on anything crazy, just off the path a bit to some dispersed sites mainly in AZ, UT, NM area. It seems my biggest challenge will be finding a ball mount that has enough of a rise, so those high campers sit level.

Has anyone done anything similar and regretted it?
