The Continental Divide Trail in One Second per Day

The Continental Divide trail stretches for about 3,100 miles between the Canadian and Mexican borders, passing through Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico. Thru-hikers are understandably rare, typically taking at least six months to traverse the whole thing. The highest point on the trail is 14,270-foot Grays Peak in Colorado. The lowest point, not including the emotional low of running low on water dozens of miles from a source, is roughly 4,000 feet at a few points on the trail.

Needless to say, a whole lot of terrain of varying kinds must be navigated. Also, needless to say, this is a truly spectacular trail.

So please enjoy this incredible video taken by a group of thruhikers, led by a guy named Mac from Halfway Anywhere, composed of one-second or so recordings from every single day of the journey. Get an idea of what you’re in for, then start planning your own trek.
