They Rode 1,000 Rocky Mountain Miles On Electric Motorcycles

Well, for all those who wonder if electric vehicles can possibly be useful in the backcountry, here’s one answer. A weeklong journey through the Rockies, using public charging stations. From the video:

“Starting at the 4 corners of Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Utah, and concluding at the Wyoming border, the trip would ultimately take 7 days to complete and relied heavily on logistics to ensure that we would not run out of battery deep in the desolate Rocky Mountains. We pre-planned our route by overlaying an extended version of the Backcountry Discovery Route into the mapping application onX Offroad. Using this data, we researched public charge stations that were less than 120 miles apart, hoping the motorcycles would make the distance.”
