So, the difference between a modern midsized iVTM4 equipped Honda with a ZF9 transmission and an older VTM4 Honda with 5 spd automatic transmission is NIGHT and DAY.

For those that don’t know, here’s how gearing stacks up:

Transmission Crawl ratio Honda 5 speed 11:1 Honda 6 speed 14:1 ZF9 20:1

For reference, a Toyota 4Runner is geared 33:1, and a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is geared around 80:1.

Because I’m not trying to click bait post I will tell you the results. The highest transmission temperatures I saw on my Honda Passport on Tin Cup Pass was 199F, our first Gen Pilots overheated.
