My build, somewhere in Utah. Nothing’s better than living on the road in something built with your own two hands. : overlanding

This thing is neither a van or a truck camper. It’s pretty much a hybrid of the two. That thing on the back is a fiberglass utility shell (for contractors and the like), which comes as an empty shell. I then built the interior and exterior, outfitting it as I please.

The whole build was surprisingly cheap(er). 32.5k all-in including tax, the truck, and some repairs. It’s being financed over 6 years with a personal loan, so significantly cheaper than rent or a mortgage.

For more details on the build, I wrote this article on it which goes over the costs, components, and build process. Plenty of interior photos too.
